An extensive analysis is necessary to determine what type of system best fits the needs of a particular application ( carousel or lift), and how many units are needed based a present and future volume of material. Vertical Carousels move the entire payload in a circular fashion, and may be more advantageous for small to medium parts storage or an office environment, especially with actively retrieved materials.

Vertical Lift units use an extractor to bring materials on a pan to the user, then returning that pan to its home, prior to bringing the next pan to the user location.

Both of these systems utilize extensive software, usually developed by the customer’s MIS people to track and inventory materials in these units.
