Most public libraries use cantilever style shelving as their mainstay. Cantilever is the most flexible type of shelving, as it can accept various components to store cd’s, periodicals, newspapers, microfilm, and more. Cantilever shelving is also easily adjustable to various heights. It has shelf depths from 7 to 16 inches-single-faced. Many decorative laminate, wood, or steel end panels can be used on cantilever shelving. Low shelving is also common for countertop height units.

We also provide case style steel shelving with or without wood fascia for the posts, shelves, etc. for areas within the library. This is a more corporate looking type shelving, and common for collections requiring deeper shelves.

We provide a full line of wood shelving and casework for public libraries. Typically, this will encompass all the carrels, circulation desks, work areas, and wood bookcase required for the interior of the library. There are also high density shelving applications in public libraries, ie: special collections or archives.
